Tucson (Ariz.) police have released a CD of logging tapes that document last Sunday’s murder of Off. Erik Hite during a one-hour chase across the city that was punctuated by gunfire. Police say suspect David Delich, 25, has a prior psychiatric history, but somehow qualified to obtain parts for three semi-auto rifles that he assembled and used during the 20-mile chase. Two officers were injured by gunfire during the chase. Delich surrendered at a park outside the city. The full tape hasn’t yet been posted, but watch a TV report on the radio transmissions here.
