When a St. Charles County (Mo.) woman unwittingly drove her car into a flooded street at 5:30 a.m., she dialed 911 and reached dispatcher Becky Lenk at the Fire Protection District comm center. For the next 50 minutes Lenk kept Erica Strickland on the line, reassuring her that rescue units were working to reach her. By the time firefighters in a boat reached Strickland, she was on top of her car still clutching her cell phone. Later, Strickland, Lenk and the firefighter reunited.
