An alert Hazelwood (Mo.) police dispatcher foiled an attempt by a 911 caller to get his buddy out of a ticket, when she recognized a police officer’s voice in the background of the call. The officer had pulled over a vehicle containing two persons, and was ready to ticket the driver. The officer noticed the passenger was making a cellular call, and shortly the dispatcher radioed that she had received a 911 call reporting a robbery at a nearby convenience store–and that she heard the officer’s voice on the call. The dispatcher and officer put two-and-two together, and second officer confirmed there was no robbery at the convenience store, and the passenger was arrested.
