Press Files Complaint Over 911 Call

Several Madison (Wisc.) press organizations have filed a lawsuit against the city, its police department and Dane County, accusing them of illegally withholding records the media requested in connections with a 911 call made by murder victim Brittany Zimmermann. The lawsuit is just the latest activity after Zimmermann’s body was found in early April, apparently after she made a 911 call for help that didn’t result in a police response. Meanwhile, three Dane County board members said they would hold a public hearing tonight (Monday), and have invited public officials to attend and discuss the incident. Download (pdf) the lawsuit here. Also read another 911 call tape story, and the associated comments that it generated here. Update: Read a news report on the Monday night hearing here.
