Dispatcher’s Remark Inflames Community

A Nashville (Tenn.) police dispatcher’s profane remark at the end of a 911 call has sparked outrage, criticism, and the scrutiny of city’s comm center by the nation’s media. Although dispatcher-in-training Frank Roth was apparently fired in March for failing his final test, the controversy continues since he mis-coded the incident, and it took three hours for an officer to arrive at the 911 caller’s domestic disturbance incident. According to press accounts, the victim called about her abusive ex-boyfriend, but no officer was available. She continued to call back, but at one point the incident was “deleted” from the CAD computer, officials explained. At the end of one 911 call the woman hung up, but while still on the phone, the now-fired dispatcher said, “I really just don’t give a s**t what happens to you.” Read several stories from WTVF-TV, who broke the story, here.
