To help support public safety agencies in the Chicago area, the National Weather Service has created a special Web page of information that consolidates pertinent climate data. The NWS points out that 30% of the nation’s rail cargo travels through Chicago, and it’s also an air and highway hub, creating special HAZMAT situations.
