A long story in the Philadelphia (Penn.) Daily News recounts the construction of the city’s police-fire radio system in 2002, and that there have been major on-going problems with the $62 million Motorola system ever since. The story lays out several examples of complete outages, along with a failure of the city to fix problems identified in a 2005 audit.
