In Manchester (NH), you can dial 911 on a Friday night, and then be serving two months in jail on Tuesday. That’s the case of one man whose wife called police twice to report a loud party, but police reported they were busy and couldn’t immediately respond. The man then dialed 911 and told a dispatcher that he had shot someone. Police spent an hour responding, evacuating and investigating. And when police learned that the man had called simply to speed up the police response, they arrested him. Watch a TV report about the arrest here.
