Dispatcher’s Lawsuit Scheduled for Hearing

A Prince George’s County (Md.) dispatcher has filed a lawsuit against the county claiming the comm center is unhealthy and caused her medical ailments, including respiratory problems. Robin Lindsey, 45, had her thyroid removed last December after doctors suspected she had cancer. But county lawyers have denied her claim, and so her $20 million lawsuit will move forward with a hearing in May. “The building is very old, but safe,” said Vernon Herron, county director of public safety. But the lawsuit cites mold, leftover chemical residue from when parts of the center were used as a police photo lab, humidity and inadequate ventilation. Read more about the lawsuit here.
