An 11 year-old Weston (Wisc.) girl died from diabetes after her parents put their faith in God to heal her, and did not seek medical assistance until she lapsed into a coma. Madeline Neumann died from ketoacidosis, caused by too little insulin in her blood stream. Her parents were unaware she was a diabetic, and said Madeline only had medical problems in the two weeks prior to her death. Officials said a relative in California called the Marathon County sheriff’s comm center about 2 p.m. on March 20th, concerned over her niece’s health. But the relative didn’t know the family’s address, and police and EMS weren’t dispatched until about 2:33 p.m. Five minutes later, the victim’s mother calls from the house.
