Fire Destroys Dispatcher’s Home, Family Is Safe

A fire swept through the home of Howard County (Md.) dispatcher Susan Markowski, but thankfully her three daughters, one son and husband were not home during the fire, and are safe. According to the 911 CARES program, Markowski is staying with family members, but lost almost all her possessions, including clothes. Her comm center colleagues have stepped up to help, and are accepting donations through Chris McNamara, Howard County 911 Center, 3430 Courthouse Dr., Ellicott City, MD 21043. The 911 CARES program suggests Wal-Mart, Target or VISA/MasterCard gift cards.
