Dispatcher Dies in Tenn. Accident

A memorial service was held today for Christian County (Ken.) dispatcher Ronda Cooley, who was killed Monday when her car was struck by a truck while enroute to work. The 34 year-old Cooley was a 7-year veteran of the agency, and had recently been promoted to assistant terminal agency coordinator for NCIC matters. Police say she had dropped off her 5 year-old daughter at a babysitter around 2:30 p.m., just before her evening shift was to begin. Cooley slowed her vehicle behind another, as a third vehicle turned left from the highway. Cooley’s Grand Am was then struck from behind by a F-250 pick-up truck. Police said Cooley was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene. A burial service is scheduled for Saturday. A donation fund has been set up for Cooley’s daughter Madison Nicole Walker at the U.S. Bank, 3213 Lafayette Rd., Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
