Dispatcher Wins Discrimination Lawsuit

Former Cobb County 911 dispatcher Stacey Tatroe received a unanimous decision by a federal grand jury on her April, 2004 civil lawsuit charging the county with discrimination. But she received just $2,414 in back pay instead of the $650,000 she had requested in the lawsuit. Tatroe claimed she was denied overtime back in 2004, and had her shift changed after she complained to county officials about staffing shortages and other problems. The just dismissed seven of the lawsuit’s original 13 claims, and then the 8-person jury listened to four days of testimony on the other allegations.
