Comm Breakdowns Part of Kidnap, Murder

There were several breakdowns in communications among public safety agencies that contributed to the death of Denise Lee after her kidnap in North Point (Fla.) in February, according to a long story in the Herald Tribune newspaper. There were four 911 calls and several witness reports that she had been forcibly abducted, along with cell phone records and other clues. But it took over an hour for the several agencies handling various parts of the incident to connect and make sense of the information.
