Officer Calls For Help, But No Address

When an undercover New York City officer dialed 911 to report that shots had been fire by police, he didn’t know his location to give the dispatcher, according to logging tapes played in the trial of three officers accused of shooting Sean Bell in Nov. 2006. Off. Hispolito Sanchez was on the phone for almost two minutes, unable to give an address or location, and didn’t know who had been injured by the gunfire. In fact, three men in a car had been hit by 50 shots that four officers fired at them. Bell was killed after leaving a strip club where he held his bachelor’s party. His two friends were seriously injured. Two officers face manslaughter charges and the third is charged with reckless endangerment. Listen (mp3) to the 911 call as the dispatcher continues to ask for a location here.
