Motor Officer Crashes, Location Confusion

When a Dallas (Tex.) police motorcycle officer crashed while escorting Sen. Hillary Clinton on Feb. 22nd, radio calls for an ambulance described the location as on the “Houston Street viaduct.” However, it was another 15 minutes before a fire department ambulance arrived, apparently delayed by confusion over the location and how to access the elevated portion of the road where the accident occurred. Logging tapes of radio transmissions include an officer repeating the location several times, and the radio dispatcher asking on the air, “Does anyone know what he said?” Listen to some of the transmissions, which a TV station incorrectly states are “911 calls,” here.
