Police officials said that criminals are listening to the radio channels, and the police want to keep their tactics and responses confidential. And in Boston, a federal judge has sentenced a former Boston PD officer to 18 years in prison for his role in a cocaine sales operation. Court testimony said Nelson Carrasquillo provided protection for drug shipments, including monitoring BPD radio communications.
