The town of Collegedale (Tenn., pop. 6,514) had a decision to make: join a newly-consolidated comm center with Hamilton County and Chattanooga, create their own center for $1.5 million or switch service to another city. The county sheriff notified the town his agency will no longer provide dispatching services, forcing the decision. There were lots of considerations, including technology and cost.
