Dallas (Tex.) police and fire officials are investigating reports that the EMS response to a motorcycle officer’s accident was delayed for at least five minutes. Senior Cpl. Victor Lozada, who was working the escort detail last Friday for presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, was killed when he crashed into a viaduct curb and was thrown onto the pavement. Bad radio reception and a conflicting CAD location may have hindered the immediate entry of the incident in the computer system. Police dispatchers reportedly telephoned directly for a fire/EMS response, but it took five minutes for the engine company to be notified. Officials from both departments say they won’t speculate on what happened until all the facts are gathered. Read more here.
