The Indiana state legislature is working through a House and Senate version of bills that would overhaul the state’s 911 laws, including establishing a statewide 911 Board, collection and distribution of surcharges, 911 abuse penalties and a requirement that by 2012 there be just one PSAP in each of the states’s 92 counties. The Senate version of the bill is in committee, the House version is still being hashed out by legislators.
