Citizen Academy Sees 911 Center

Many law enforcement agencies conduct so-called “citizen academies,” during which ordinary persons attend weekly training sessions at the agency to obtain a better idea of the requirements of the job, skills that are needed, and the critical nature of the job. The academies are intended to foster good will among the citizens, and improve community relations. Now the Columbus Telegram (Neb.) has profiled an academy session in their city that focused on the police department’s comm center, including 20-year dispatcher Nancy Roubal.
