New Center Adds 911 Lines

Arlington County (Virg.) will open a new 8,000 square-foot emergency communications center that will feature more 911 lines to take emergency calls, and elevated supervisor’s position and a video projection system to help keep dispatchers informed of outside events. The new center was sparked by the Sept. 11th terrorist attack against the Pentagon, an area handled by the Arlington center. The center and a new radio system cost $38 million.
