The state of Oregon awarded its first Charles P. Pray Award to Don Pfohl, technical project manager for the state Wireless Interoperability Network, which seeks to bring agencies together with radio systems. Pfohl, 69, has worked for the past five years with OSP, handling the complex task of analyzing the state’s radio needs, and engineering interoperability solutions. He’s also been a consultant to several other cities across the country. The OSP award recognizes employees whose body of work or career accomplishments has a significant effect establishes positive state, national or international recognition, the agency said in a press release. “Don’s lifetime commitment and devotion to wireless communications is unparalleled and has greatly enhanced the safety of Oregon’s citizens and Public Safety employees,” said OSP Superintendent McLain. The award is named after OSP’s first superintendent.
