Police Defend Murder Response Time

Police in Cheshire (Conn.) are defending their response time to a reported kidnapping and hostage incident that ended with an arson fire that left three residents dead. Two suspects were arrested fleeing the house last July and face trial on multiple charges. A bank employee dialed 911 to report that a woman had just withdrawn $15,000 and communicated that her family was being held hostage back home. However, police weren’t dispatched for five minutes, police admit, and officers remained outside the home for 26 minutes until the suspects tried to ram through a police roadblock. A transcript of police communications and a timeline was released, but both were heavily redacted. Read more about the incident here, then read the timeline and transcript and decide what was blacked out and why.
