Dispatchers in Ravalli County (Mont.) say they’re prepared to strike after contract negotiations have stalled over pay issues. The center in Hamilton has 14 full-time and 3 part-time employees and handles 911 calls for the entire county in the far-western part of the state. The dispatchers have been negotiating for a pay raise and an increased shift differential for those working the night shift. The county and union have been meeting periodically, but a January 28th meeting without an agreement may mark the beginning of a strike.
