45-Minute Delay: Multiple Reasons

An EMS response to a rural Nebraska vehicle accident took 40 minutes longer than usual because of a complex set of circumstances that included similar-sounding names for the nearby residents and the lack of E911 gear. The accident happened on Hwy. 83 outside of North Platte, and a wired 911 call properly went to that city’s comm center.
