Final Link in Unified Comm System

Louisville (Ken.) region public safety agencies are nearly ready to begin using a $70 million upgrade to their communications system that began with a consolidation back in 2005. The Motorola-provided system will link several agencies and departments on a trunked system dubbed “MetroSafe.” The city’s public safety communications operations were consolidated in 2005, and a new CAD system was installed in 2006 for all agencies to use. Now radio antennas are being installed as the final part of the radio project that will eventually handle the city and surrounding Jefferson County agencies. Read more about the project and some interesting reader comments here.
