Caller, Dispatcher Errors Lead to Delay

A Bedford County (Tenn.) dispatcher and a 911 caller both misidentified the street name for a fire location, sending units to the wrong location and delaying their arrival at the correct address slightly. Officials said fire units still arrived within six minutes, but that both the caller and dispatcher were to blame for the original misunderstanding. Similar-sounding roads were to blame for the street misunderstanding: James Crowell Road andVirgil Crowell Road, both intersecting with Halls Mill Road, said communications director Cathey Mathis.
