A former Victoria (BC, Canada) police-fire dispatcher has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography, and was sentence to 18 months of community service, hit with a curfew and put on 3 years probation. Mark Oscar Coderre, 41, received the sentence after a plea bargain. A Crime Stoppers tip last year led police to seize Coderre’s computer, DVDs and CDs, all containing child pornography. A probation report said Coderre was abused as a child himself, didn’t have physical contact with children, and was having struggles with his own sexuality. Forensic psychologists said he was a low risk to the community, and had been apologetic about his behavior.
