New York state officials say that the first phases of a planned $2.1 billion state-wide radio network for public safety agencies has not met expectations, and that they are concerned. The first construction began in Erie and Chautauqua counties in the western part of the state, and the system was tested this past summer and fall. M/A-COMM has the radio system contract, which includes over 1,000 transmitters and receiver sites across the state. Read more about the testing here.
