Construction Worker Arrested for Theft

New Jersey State Police detectives have arrested a construction worker for stealing $65,000 worth of Warren County public safety radios, and then putting them up for sale on eBay. The suspect was an employee of a company hired to renovate and upgrade the county comm center’s fire supression system, police said. The new Motorola radios were purchased as part of a multi-county emergency management project, and had not yet been put into service. Officials would not say how they linked the worker to the thefts, but did say other arrests are possible in the case. Some of the 36 radios were recovered, but others are still outstanding, county officials said.
