The job of dispatching isn’t documented very extensively, if only because at the end of a dispatcher’s day the last thing he/she wants to do is sit down and type about the experience for 20-30 minutes. But London (UK) Ambulance Service dispatcher Mark Myers (not his real name) is doing a pretty good job of documenting his experiences on the NeeNaw Web site. His intended audience is really the general public, and his goal is to shed some light on the call-taking process. But dispatchers will find the blog interesting, too. Read his stories here.
