Dispatcher Asked Right Questions

A man who allegedly stabbed his 62 year-old mother to death while she was on the phone to Brunswick (Ohio) dispatcher Terry Gluszek then picked up the phone and spoke to Gluszek himself. The six-year veteran dispatcher calmly kept the man on the phone as police responded to the incident. Officials said the cellular call was originally routed to an Cuyahoga County’s comm center instead of Median County, who then transferred the call to Hinckley Township police. However, the call automatically rolled over to Brunswick because Hinckley doesn’t have 24-hour dispatching service at night. Officials didn’t say if the transfer contributed to any response delay.
