Bradley County (Tenn.) officials say a dispatcher won’t be investigated for mistaking a 911 call from a youngster reporting a murder-suicide as a prank. The 8 year-old girl dialed 911 to say that her mother and father were dead, but the unnamed dispatcher didn’t believe her. “You think this is funny?” the dispatcher asked the girl. Officials said the dispatcher’s inaction didn’t affect the outcome of the incident. Officers were dispatched to investigate the child’s 911 hang-up call as the dispatcher called her back. Officers arrived, and then the dispatcher believed their voices were the girl’s friends laughing in the background of the call.
