TV Station Reports on Center Errors

A San Antonio (Tex.) TV station reporter told viewers that, “Some dispatchers are not there when you need them most,” but then went on to explain that the problems were related to delayed responses to incidents. Reporter Brian Collister interviewed a family whose home was burglarized, and played 911 calls they placed, and how police dispatcher Sarah Rodriguez did not send out units immediately, but waited 30 minutes to dispatch the incident. She received a written reprimand, Collister reported, for “poor judgment that could have resulted in personal injury to others.” Read more and watch the TV report here.
