The National Public Safety Telecommunications Council (NPSTC) has issues a 53-page set of requirements for a national public safety/private broadband radio network, highlighting mission-critical availability, robustness, accessibility and hardened infrastructures. The Council represents over a dozen agencies, and said in a press release, “The work recognizes the reality that implementation of features, functions, and performance standards will be neither immediate nor without challenge.” The group’s work is separate from the national public safety voice network licensed by the FCC earlier this year.
