Missing Kids Call Guide Posted

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has posted a model policy and best-practice guide for public safety calltakers who handle telephone calls related to at-risk children. The 33-page describes the types of situations that might be reported, sets out the goals of call handling, and then provides an extensive outline for handling each type of telephone call. The document was created as part of an APCO, NENA, NAED and DOJ alliance. The DOJ will be offering 2-day training classes for comm center managers and directors on the new policies and best practices. Download (pdf) the document here, and check their other resources here.
