Dispatcher Spots Suspicious Men

Two men seen taking photos and scribbling notes about Pennsylvania turnpike facilities over a three-day period have been detained and questioned. The two were seen at various locations in Somerset and Bedford Counties, but were always gone when officers arrived to investigate. An unnamed dispatcher then spotted the pair as he was driving home after work. Officers discovered the two worked for a Spain-based company that is considering investments in U.S. toll facilities. Even so, police took their cameras and laptops. Turnpike chief executive officer Joe Brimmeier told a reporter, “But I’m glad we have their cameras and laptops. God only knows who could get their hands on this type of information and what they could do with it.” [Homeland security or overzealous? Post your comment.]
