Charlotte-Mecklenburg (NC) police have released edited transcripts of 911 calls and radio transmissions made on March 31st when Officer Jeff Shelton and Sean Clark were shot and killed at an apartment complex. Police had resisted media requests to release the materials, saying it was part of the homicide investigation against the suspect, who was arrested about 40 minutes after the shootings. The calls came from residents who immediately realized the officers were seriously injured. Radio transmissions showed dozens of officers converging on the incident scene, sometimes not knowing where to go or what to do. Read more here, and download (pdf) the 911 call transcripts here.
