Telematics provider OnStar has partnered with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children to provide AMBER Alerts to customers based on the customer’s location. The company says its mapping system will now include AMBER Alert information, and will display any active alerts to call center advisors when a customer calls for service. “The OnStar advisor will notify (the customer) of the situation and ask the subscriber if they would like additional information to help identify the abducted child,” OnStar explained in a press release. The company also said it’s donating $300,000 to OnStar’s “Team Adam,” a group of retired law enforcement officials with expertise in missing children cases.
