Great Example of Interop Needs

Redding (Conn.) police chief Douglas Fuchs says his town won’t be using the state’s 800 MHz radio system to create interoperability with neighboring public safety agencies, but those agencies won’t be using the system because it would require installing an additional radio in all patrol cars. The police department’s radio operates in the 150 MHz band, and surrounding agencies use the same band or 450 MHz band radios. The systems are interconnected so officers can talk to one another.
