Dispatchers at the Floyd County (Geo.) comm center have dumped their new $760,000 CAD system and are handling incidents by hand after incidents were lost in the system and didn’t properly update, and the server computer had to be rebooted twice. The county is holding back a final $70,000 payment to Positron Public Safety Systems, whose techs are investigating the problems. 911 director Patricia Smith said dispatchers have been documenting problems since the system was turned on last December, and that the manual system is working well.
