At its Wednesday meeting, the FCC issued an 18-page memorandum on the issue of Sprint/Nextel’s compliance with the commission’s 18-month deadline for rebanding in the 800 MHz band, saying the company failed to meet a Dec. 2006 deadline, but imposing no fines on the company. The FCC clarified some issues and imposed additional “benchmarks” for the process for clearing channels 1-120 in the band. Download (pdf) the FCC’s memo here.
