Athens County (Ohio) 911 officials have announced personnel actions in connection with an investigation, and have unsealed search warrants in the case indicating it involved an officer who claimed to have received topless photos of dispatchers over his cellular phone. But the attorney for the fired dispatcher says his client did not send any photos and doesn’t own a cellular phone. Director Doug Bentley recommended that dispatcher Liz Smith and part-time dispatcher Sherri Bailey be returned to duty after both were cleared. But in a memo to county commissioners Bentley recommended that probationary dispatcher Elizabeth Bradley be fired. The dispatchers’ cellular handsets were seized pursuant to a search warrant last week, and a police officer was fired, although police say that was for performance reasons. The county prosecutor said that no criminal charges would be pressed against any of the involved persons. Read more about the photos and the investigation here.
