Kid’s Calls Tie Up Dispatchers

A 7 year-old child suspended from school used his parents’ old cellular phone to make annoying 911 calls to Lake County (Ohio) Sheriffs dispatchers, over 350 calls over a 3-week period. Comm center supervisor Lt. Cynthia Baker said the child talked about various topics, and eventually developed a rapport with the dispatchers that led him to reveal tidbits of information over many calls. Dispatcher Jason Heller finally cracked the case when he learned of the child’s school and the names of his friends. Officers visited the boy’s home and the parents immediately took away the phone.
