The city of Portland (Ore.) and its regional partners have issued an Request for Information (RFI) for replacing its existing 800 MHz trunked radio system and creating a more modern and networked system covering 4,000 square-miles, 2 million residents and 100 public safety agencies. The three current radio systems date back as far as 1990, and the coalition of cities and counties now wants a Project 25 trunked system in the 700/800 MHz band. Read or download the RFI here, which has a comprehensive description of the agencies’ existing radio systems.
