911 Calls Don’t Stop DUI Driver

Several 911 calls reporting a possible drunk driver in Anderson County (SC) failed to generate a response from the Highway Patrol because all five on-duty troopers were occupied with other incidents. The woman driving the erratic vehicle eventually crashed into stalled vehicle, seriously injuring the driver. The woman crossed two counties and drove 30 miles before the crash, but 911 calls reporting her driving were transferred back and forth between the county comm center and Highway Patrol. Read more about the calls and listen to excerpts here.
