FCC’s Martin Talks to Congress

FCC chair Kevin Martin appeared before the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce today to talk about current initiatives, including the 2008 auction of 700 MHz spectrum. He said that, “Meeting the needs of public safety is critically important,” and that his proposal for the band would, “help create a truly national interoperable broadband network for public safety agencies to use during times of emergency.” Download (pdf) his general remarks here.
