Person Arrested in Missing Dispatcher Case

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested former Lafayette police officer Harbin Chaffin, who worked with the husband of missing Walker County dispatcher Theresa Parker. Officials did not explain his arrest, but said it was for charges of violation of oath by public officer; tampering with evidence and computer invasion of privacy. He was arrested in Alabama, and was expected to be extradited. Sam Parker is a person-of-interest in the case, but no charges have been filed against him. He was fired from his job as a Lafayette police officer after GBI investigators found explosives in his locker. Theresa Parker has been missing since March 23rd, and an extensive search has turned up no clues. Update: Chaffin has waived extradition and will voluntarily return to Georgia to face charges.
