The PodTech.net Web site recently sent correspondent Matt Kelly to Detroit to tour the OnStar command center, where the company monitors its call centers, national events that might affect call volumes, the flow of traffic through its communications network, and determines proper staffing levels for its call centers. Check the map showing the 36,701 interactions OnStar has each day and where they’re located, and how the call centers mine data obtained from customers and pass it along to government officials.
